Info : Your Cheating Heart- iPhone App Finds Wife With Another Man

When Apple released its new iOS 5 operating system to go with its iPhone 4S, it touted a new app called “Find My Friends” as a great way to track and meet up with friends. If they agree, you can see their locations on a map on your screen.

But the app’s enterprising customers are apparently already finding other uses. If the online posts appearing on a chat forum at MacRumors.com are for real, “Find My Friends” may have already claimed its first marriage.

Saturday night on MacRumors, a man saying he lived in New York City posted this:

“Divorcing wife. Thanks iPhone 4s and Find My Friends.

“I got my wife a new 4s and loaded up find my friends without her knowing. She told me she was at her friends house in the east village. I’ve had suspicions about her meeting this guy who live uptown. Lo and behold, Find my Friends has her right there.

“I just texted her asking where she was and the dumb b—- said she was on 10th Street!! Thank you Apple, thank you App Store, thank you all. These beautiful treasure trove of screen shots [sic] going to play well when I meet her … at the lawyer’s office in a few weeks.

“thankfully, she’s the rich one.”

It has not been determined whether the story posted on MacRumors was, in fact, authentic, and the man did not immediately reply to a request from ABC News for comment. But more than 100,000 people have viewed the posts, according to MacRumors. More than 300 of them replied with expressions of sympathy, skepticism and — this being the Internet — a few less-than-savory jokes.

Arnold Kim, the editorial director of MacRumors, said it was “definitely a busy thread.” MacRumors did not try to verify the man’s story (if, in fact, it was a man), but said everyone who registers for its forums has to validate their email when they register.

“Find My Friends” uses the iPhone or iPad’s built-in Global Positioning System to see your friends’ locations on a map on the screen of your device. GPS can be accurate to within a few feet for civilian uses.

Apple says “The Find My Friends app is a great way to share your location with people who are important to you” — whether you’re trying to meet friends at a crowded concert or make sure your kids get safely home from school.

The man was back with a new post less than an hour later, including a couple of screen grabs showing the location of his wife was on East 65th St., though she sent him a text message saying, “Was hard to find stupid cab hate meat packing….”

The husband again: “She said she is in meat packing district which is on 12th street. I DONT THINK SO. Appreicate [sic] the support. not my finest hour here but going to get better soon.”

The new iPhone 4S and operating system have been off-the-charts successes for Apple, which said this morning that it sold more than four million iPhone 4S in three days, and that 25 million people are now using iOS 5.

Technology watchers are particularly struck by Siri — the voice-recognition “personal assistant” built into the new software that accepts spoken commands, answers questions, and is eerily intelligent in its responses.

There was a memorial service Sunday night for Steve Jobs on the campus of Stanford University, near Apple’s corporate headquarters in California, amid widespread stories that he was deeply involved in the next iPhone — the replacement for the iPhone 4S.

The presumably-jilted husband put up one last post Saturday night: “what really chaps my a– is not the cheating but the fact that they were probably admiring and laughing over the new phone I BOUGHT. haha. well someone about to get the last laugh tonight.”

And that was the last from him. The whole thing may have been a joke, or a domestic tragedy. Ben Crompton, who writes the Pocket Lint blog, said there have certainly been other apps before, such as Google Latitude, that let you track people through GPS signals, but Apple will make it trendy.

“The burning issue seems to be that it is a very powerful tool to have,” he wrote, “bringing with it huge amounts of info to the user as well as delivering plenty of info about the user to others. For some this power will outdo the user’s knowledge of how to use it properly.”

“Still, on the up side,” he concluded, “maybe Siri will be able to offer some marriage guidance advice.”

HONG KONG – Gergasi elektronik Korea Selatan, Samsung Electronics semalam memperkenalkan telefon bimbit terbaharunya, Galaxy Nexus.

Ia merupakan telefon pintar pertama menggunakan versi terkini sistem pengoperasian Android keluaran Google.

Galaxy Nexus merupakan hasil kerjasama Samsung-Google.

Pengeluaran itu adalah reaksi terhadap telefon pintar terbaharu keluaran Apple, iPhone 4S yang sudah dijual melebihi empat juta unit selepas kurang seminggu ia dipasarkan.

Dalam satu majlis pelancarannya di sini, Eksekutif Google, Andy Rubin berkata, sistem pengoperasian terkini Android itu yang dikenali sebagai Sandwich Ais Krim boleh digunakan pada telefon bimbit, komputer tablet dan pelbagai gajet lain.

Telefon itu turut memiliki teknologi pengecaman muka dan bukan kata laluan untuk mengaktifkannya.

Ia akan mula dijual pada bulan depan di Amerika Syarikat, Eropah, dan Asia termasuk China serta Jepun.

Apple : iPhone 4S

CUPERTINO, California – Apple kelmarin mendedahkan telefon bimbit yang lebih berkuasa, iPhone 4S yang memberi reaksi terhadap arahan suara.

Telefon itu akan dijual di Amerika Syarikat (AS), Australia, Kanada, Perancis, Jerman, Jepun dan Britain pada 14 Oktober depan.

Tempahan awal boleh dibuat seminggu sebelum penjualan tersebut dibuat.

Di AS, harga iPhone itu akan bermula daripada AS$199 (RM635) untuk model 16 gigabyte dan AS$399 (RM1,273) untuk model 64 gigabyte.

Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Apple (CEO), Tim Cook membuat kemunculan semasa majlis pendedahan iPhone 4S itu.

Dia menggantikan Steve Jobs yang meletakkan jawatan ekoran masalah kesihatan yang dihadapinya.

Namun, iPhone 4S itu dikatakan gagal untuk memikat peminat.

Beberapa penganalisis berkata, keputusan syarikat Apple untuk meneruskan model lama dan mengurangkan harganya akan membantu firma tersebut memperoleh lebih ramai pelanggan. – Agensi

Apple perkenal iPhone 5

NEW YORK 24 Sept. – Syarikat teknologi Amerika Syarikat (AS), Apple merancang untuk memperkenalkan telefon pintar generasi baru, iPhone 5, pada bulan depan.

Menurut blog AllThingsD, iPhone 5 dijangka dilancarkan oleh Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Apple Inc. yang baru, Tim Cook pada 4 Oktober ini.

Jelas blog itu, telefon pintar berkenaan akan berada di pasaran beberapa minggu selepas pelancaran tersebut.

‘‘Sebagai Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif yang baru, Cook berada dalam tekanan untuk mengekalkan prestasi syarikat pada tahap terbaik.

‘‘Ini selepas beliau menggantikan tempat Steve Jobs yang melepaskan jawatan itu pada 24 Ogos lalu,’’ katanya.

Di bawah pimpinan Jobs, Apple mencipta pelbagai kejayaan cemerlang sehingga diiktiraf sebagai syarikat berpengaruh dalam industri teknologi maklumat global.

Apple juga mengalami revolusi di peringkat tertinggi menerusi pengenalan beberapa produk pengkomputeran moden seperti Power Mac G3, PowerBok dan juga iBook.

Apple turut mencipta kejayaan dalam bidang telekomunikasi pada 2007 apabila memperkenalkan peranti telefon bimbit pintar iPhone dan komputer tablet iPad yang kini semakin menarik perhatian masyarakat dunia.

Samsung launches Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab 7.7

The Samsung Galaxy Note features the pressure-sensitive ‘S-Pen’ and is smaller than HTC’s Flyer

Samsung has unveiled two new tablets, one of which, the midsized Galaxy Note, is being pitched as a replacement for pen and paper.

The Android-based Galaxy Note features a pressure-sensitive “S Pen” that can be used to write, draw and annotate a variety of content types, including photos. The idea has been done before, with HTC’s Flyer, but that tablet’s stylus came as a pricey optional extra that had to be bought separately.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note’s 5.3in screen size is smaller than the Flyer and closer to the dimensions of a standard notepad. The tablet is 9.65mm wide and weighs 178g. The larger tablet announced at the IFA technology show in Berlin on Thursday is the Galaxy Tab 7.7, a slightly enlarged version of Samsung’s first Android tablet, unveiled a year ago.

According to Andrew Coughlin, head of account for Samsung Europe, the Galaxy Note comes with a memo application that can be quickly called up so the user can jot down ideas. “Any screen can be captured and annotated with detailed commentary in your own handwriting,” he said.

Samsung obviously sees a big future for pen-based input. The company will release a software development kit (SDK) so third-party developers can write apps for the stylus – reference apps that have already been created with partners include a multiparty whiteboard application for business use.

It remains to be seen how the device will be priced in the UK or when it will become available. The Flyer, which is already getting long-in-the-tooth by tablet standards, can be picked up for about £400.

Coughlin and other Samsung executives repeatedly referred to the Galaxy Note as a primary device, suggesting that it can replace both the smartphone and the larger tablet size exemplified by the market-leading iPad.

The Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a revision of the original Galaxy Tab, which featured a slightly smaller 7in screen. The new version is thinner, lighter and brighter, measuring 7.89mm in thickness, weighing 335g and featuring the same Super AMOLED Plus screen technology that is used in the extremely popular Galaxy S II smartphone.

Super AMOLED Plus allows wide viewing angles, a feature that Apple has been keen to promote with the IPS display on its iPad 2. Both of Samsung’s new tablets feature 1.4GHz dual-core processors, which is about the same processing power that can be found in netbooks. By comparison, Apple’s iPad 2 is relatively sluggish with its 1GHz processor.

Versions of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be made available with a variety of connectivity options, including “4G” LTE and the more-common 3G-based HSPA option found in most smartphones.

At the same event, Samsung unveiled its Wave 3 handset, which runs the new version 2.0 of the company’s Bada operating system. Bada is an OS that Samsung is putting into a range of handsets, from the low end to smartphones.

Although the high end of the market is almost entirely taken up with smartphone-specific operating systems such as iOS, Android and the BlackBerry OS, Samsung said at Thursday’s launch that it will do its utmost to make Bada “one of the top mobile platforms in the industry”.

Gadjet : Sony Ericsson Announces Xperia Neo V and Android 2.3.4 Update

Malaysia might have not yet received the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo that was launched at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year but guess what, its successor – the Xperia Neo V – has already been officially unveiled earlier this week. At one glance, the new Neo V does look identical to the original Neo; in fact, they do share a number of hardware such the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor and 3.2-inch Reality Display with Mobile Bravia engine.

However, the Neo V comes with a different 5-megapixels main camera that is not equipped with the Sony Exmor R sensor that the original Neo’s 8-megapixels camera has. No pricing has been announced yet but Sony Ericsson has said that the Neo V will be heading to selected market throughout the world in Q4 2011.

In addition to the new device, Sony Ericsson has also announced Android 2.3.4 update – comes standard with Xperia Neo V – that is going to be rolled out starting this October to all 2011 Xperia devices. The new update will bring along couple of new features and improvement to the operating system such as Google Talk with Video Chat for Xperia devices with front-facing camera, Sony’s 3D sweep panorama capability, Facebook inside Xperia 2.0, support for USB devices through Sony Ericsson LiveDock, swipe text input and screen capture.

As usual, Xperia users will be able to update their devices through PC or over the air via 3G and WiFi once the update is officially available for download. Tips : Elak Wi-fi diguna orang lain

BAGAIMANAKAH cara untuk melindungi sambungan Internet Wi-fi di rumah daripada digunakan oleh orang lain yang tidak sepatutnya?

Pertama, pastikan modem router yang anda gunakan mempunyai kata laluan. Perlu ditukar kata laluan sedia ada atau default yang disetkan pada modem router seperti admin, 12345 atau apa-apa sahaja kepada kata laluan yang lebih selamat.

Ia akan menyukarkan untuk sesiapa sahaja meneka dan memecah masuk kata laluan tersebut. Kalau perlu naik taraf kepada modem router yang lebih baik lagi.

Kedua, setkan pada modem router anda untuk nyahkan fungsi Broadcast SSID. SSID (Service Set Identifier) merupakan perimeter bagi nama rangkaian anda dalam persekitaran rangkaian tanpa wayar.

Dengan ini, nama SSID tersebut disembunyikan daripada diketahui dan dicapai oleh pihak lain menerusi rangkaian tanpa wayar.

Ketiga, laksanakan fungsi enkripsi kepada rangkaian tanpa wayar anda.

Terdapat banyak fungsi enkripsi yang disediakan untuk rangkaian tanpa wayar ini seperti WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy), WPA (Wi-fi Protected Access) dan WPA2. Penggunaan fungsi enkripsi WPA2 dengan teknik enkripsi AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) di cadangkan untuk talian tanpa wayar anda. Elak daripada menggunakan teknik enkripsi WEP kerana terdapat banyak program untuk menggodamnya dan ia mudah untuk digodam.

Keempat, hadkan capaian rangkaian tanpa wayar kepada alamat-alamat MAC tertentu sahaja seperti alamat MAC yang terdapat pada komputer anda.

Alamat MAC merupakan alamat fizikal bagi antara muka kad rangkaian yang digunakan oleh sesebuah komputer. Ia boleh dicapai dalam Windows dengan menaip perkataan ipconfig /all dalam program Command Prompt.

Kelima, seperti biasa sentiasa kemaskini sistem pengoperasian yang digunakan seperti Windows atau Linux, perisian anti virus dan perisian keselamatan yang lain seperti perisian Personal Firewall dan lain-lain. Pastikan kesemuanya berfungsi dengan baik dan menjalankan fungsi keselamatannya.

Elakkan daripada menggunakan rangkaian tanpa wayar anda secara terbuka kerana ia boleh mengundang sesiapa sahaja untuk menggunakan Internet menerusinya. Antara masalah yang timbul adalah ia akan menyebabkan capaian Internet anda menjadi perlahan. Ini kerana berkemungkinan ramai yang mencapai dan menggunakan rangkaian tersebut. Dengan itu, kadar capaian jalur lebar rangkaian anda akan dibahagi-bahagikan mengikut jumlah pengguna.

Seterusnya, rangkaian tanpa wayar secara terbuka ini juga boleh mengundang seseorang menggunakan talian Internet anda untuk melakukan pelbagai perkara yang tidak baik seperti perbuatan jenayah, fitnah, provokasi, penggodaman, melanggar undang-undang negara dan lain-lain. Jadi, berhati-hatilah.
